The Levoit VortexIQ Pro Cordless Vacuum is a handy tool that keeps the floor clean. It’s a simple system that easy to put together and requires minimal effort to use. Plus, it breaks down into a smaller handheld vacuum that’s helped me tackle deep cleaning chores, like my couch cushions and car interior.
When Levoit offered to send me a sample to test, I was thrilled. In this guide, I give you my honest take on this vacuum.

Setting Up the Levoit VortexIQ Pro Cordless Vacuum
When the vacuum arrived, it was in a compact box. Although I was excited about using the vacuum, I wasn’t exactly thrilled about having to assemble it. But it turns out it literally took me less than five minutes to open the box and assemble the vacuum. The box has clear instructions laid out right on it, so I didn’t have to dig for the user manual to get started.
Once assembled, I decided to charge up the device. In the box, I saw a charger that plugged directly into the vacuum from the wall, which is what I’ve been using for now. But it also includes a charging dock that you can mount to the wall. I haven’t found a good time to tackle that minor project yet. Instead, I’ve found that the standing vacuum charges just fine in an out-of-the-way corner without using the wall mount.

Using the Levoit VortexIQ Pro Cordless Vacuum
When I it turned on, I was pleasantly surprised by the green light that illuminates the floor in front of the vacuum. It makes it easy to see how much dog hair there is for me to clean up. (Unfortunately, with two dogs, this part is a bit frightening!) As I sped through the house, the light made it easy to hit every corner and avoid missing any spots.
I really loved that the vacuum was strong enough to suck up everything it passed in one go. I didn’t have to go over the same areas twice because this vacuum can handle getting everything up on the first go round. So far, that’s saved me a lot of time. Also, you can choose different levels of suction power. I’ve been using the medium setting, and it works great. But if you need more, you can crank it up.
I have both carpet and vinyl plank flooring in my home. This vacuum easily handled debris on both surfaces. With carpet, I feel like you need lots of power to actually pick up debris. And this device truly delivers.
The ability to break down this large vacuum into a small handheld option is another big win for me. In the past, I had to have both a tiny vacuum and a large one. This allows me to get rid of the smaller one and only have to find space for one vacuum cleaner in my house. The vacuum’s smaller size also worked well.
Finally, I really appreciate the long battery life of this vacuum. I can do the entire house and have battery life leftover.
Keeping It Going
I really like the ‘no-tangle brush’. Essentially, that means it can handle hair and other stuff without getting clogged up. As someone with longish hair, this is a constant issue with my Roomba. But this vacuum doesn’t seem to run into any entanglement issues.
In terms of battery, I’m able to vacuum my entire house (~2,000 square feet) three times before it runs out of juice on medium power. That’s about an hour of vacuuming. I haven’t felt the need to turn up the suction power to it’s full capacity, but I imagine that would drain the battery life.
My one complaint is that the filter is annoying to clean. But unfortunately, I find that to be true of every vacuum I’ve ever had, so this might be unavoidable. So far, I seem to need to empty out the vacuum after two runs through the house. With two dogs, that’s pretty good. But your needs might look a little different.
Going Handheld
If you’re like me, you’ll find lots of reasons to switch from the main vacuum to the handheld version. In the past, I’ve had one large vacuum and one small one. But keeping up with two separate devices was always a drag. That’s not the case with this vacuum.
You can switch from the large to handheld size. It only takes me a minute to make the swap. After going to the handheld, the suction power remains strong. I will say the weight is a bit more than my previous handheld vacuum. But I’m very happy that I won’t need to keep up with two separate machines from now on.
