The Unboxing Experience
When my samples arrived in the mail, I was pleasantly surprised. In the package, the company had included some cute hair clips. Both the mascara and the remover came in tight packaging. It was easy to open and tubes are sleek and modern.
Wear Test
I decided to give the mascara a try on a date night to a local steakhouse. I’m happy to report that it was very easy to apply.
I really liked the curved wand, more than I thought I would. In the past, I’ve only used straight wands to apply mascara, which can make it a bit more of a process to get an even application. At first, I thought the curved wand would be a hinderance, likely because it’s not what I’m used to. But when giving this a try, I could immediately tell the curved wand makes even application easier.
After the breezy application, I was ready to see how it stood up to the summer heat in Florida. And somewhat surprisingly, it held up very well. Since it’s always sweltering here, especially in August, I have a hard time finding truly waterproof mascara that doesn’t run in the inevitable sweat. Unfortunately, the steak house had an A/C problem, which really put this mascara to the test. I’m happy to report it didn’t run all night!
During the application and for the rest of the night, the mascara didn’t clump. It’s a relief because that’s often a problem I deal with when using mascara. Also, I didn’t even notice that I had it on, which is always what I’m really looking for in any kind of makeup I wear. Even though I was paranoid about smudging, nothing happened all night.
If I could change anything about the experience, it would be skipping the hair clips. Although they’re cute, I don’t think I would wear them. Since I don’t want them in a landfill, I’ll have to hold onto them until I see my younger nieces who will likely love them.
Removal with KissMe: Heroine Make Speedy Mascara Remover
After getting home, it was time for my most dreaded chore: makeup removal. I’m not sure why, but this part of the night is always an downer. But this time, I gave KissMe: Heroine Make Speedy Mascara Remover a try. It definitely made mascara removal easier.
At first, I wasn’t sure how to use the remover. But on closer inspection, I discovered one side of the wand has little grooves designed to apply the makeup remover directly to your eyelashes. It literally took a quick swipe or two to get enough coverage. Then I waited less than a minute before using a damp towel to remove the mascara.
I didn’t have to wipe at my eyes nearly as much as normal to remove the waterproof mascara. After a simple swipe of the towel, the makeup came right off.

All in all, I’d say this mascara is a good option for beauty buyers on a budget. It’s relatively affordable and easy to use. For anyone who really doesn’t like the task of mascara removal, this wand could be a good option to help you speed through that part of your routine.
