Eli & Elm Side Sleeper Pillow
Prep the Pillow First
The Eli & Elm pillow takes a few minutes to set it up to your preferences and make sure it’s fully fluffed. All you have to do is pull the fill apart with your fingers and put it in the dryer for about 5 minutes. Then adjust the fill to your preference. This step is very important, but first, before you even buy the pillow, you need to choose the fill.
There Are Two Fill Types to Choose From
For the perfect fit, you can choose between two fill types. The latex noodle fill — the kind I have — is made from the rubber tree and is naturally hypoallergenic and eco friendly. The latex will retain its shape without the need to fluff. It’s firmer than the memory foam option and has high breathability.
The memory foam fill is softer with moderate breathability and contours to the head and neck. It prevents motion transfer and provides pressure relief.
Regardless of the fill you choose, the great thing about this pillow is that if you need more fill for a firmer feel, you can order a fill pack that includes enough for two pillows. If you need a softer feel, you can remove some fill to get it exactly where you want it to be, which is what I did.
I Customized the Fill for the Best Fit
I tried sleeping on the pillow a few nights with the full amount of fill in it, and it didn’t feel right. I ended up removing about a gallon size ziploc bag amount of fill to make the pillow a little lower and “floppier,” so don’t be afraid to remove a lot. You can always put it back in!
Once I removed the right amount of fill, it contoured perfectly and was exactly the right height. I’ve actually always slept with two pillows to get the right height, but that’s not necessary with the Eli & Elm!
The Cooling Pillowcase Is Comfortable and Washable
The pillow comes with a washable cover, but you can also purchase the custom fit cooling pillowcase for an additional layer of protection. It’s made with 300TC 100% all-cotton fabric that makes it breathable and cool to regulate temperature through the night. It’s only available in white, and while I’m totally fine with it, some reviewers wish that it came in a few options.

In My Expert Opinion
If you’re a side sleeper, this pillow is a great addition to your sleep routine. It’s not only great for side sleepers, it also works for stomach and back sleepers because you can add or remove fill as necessary. It typically costs $135.99, but it’s currently on sale for $114.99, and Eli & Elm is having a Labor Day sale with BOGO 50% off pillows plus savings on bundles. This price is definitely more than you’ll pay for a basic pillow from a standard retailer, but it makes for an incredible night’s sleep, and in my expert opinion, it’s totally worth it.
